"Before I saw Emma I had no idea just how powerfully healing a good physio can be! I’d had over a decade of intermittent neck and shoulder pain, sore wrists and a popped rib from my last pregnancy (12 years prior). So, my issues were somewhat ’set in’ but within 2 sessions the pain in my shoulders and neck eased massively and my mobility returned. Within 4 sessions I felt fixed. Amazing! As long as I do my part and keep up my exercises I feel able keep on top of these weak spots and after being in a lot of pain for so long it’s quite wonderful to be free of all that.

My name is Emma Marcello and I completed my physiotherapy training in Italy, Belgium and England and worked in NHS hospitals in neurological rehabilitation, community rehabilitation, orthopaedics, and women’s health.
I then started training with Douglas Heel of Be Activated, which really changed my perspective on how the body functions as a whole. It made my work more effective and fun! I moved into private practice focusing on using this concept and muscle activation techniques.
I lived in Chennai, India, for two years where as well as practising physiotherapy, volunteering at a school for children with Cerebral Palsy (and having a baby!) I trained as a yoga teacher and continue to practise and integrate that knowledge.
I am interested in everything that relates to the body from its anatomy to its connection with our emotions - I am always learning something new and am particularly fascinated by the field of embodiment and the body-mind connection.
My mission is to help you reconnect with your body and experience real shifts in your awareness of your body and your ability to do the things you love. Do get in touch with any questions!

How Can I Help?
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION?
During your initial consultation I will ask you about your current issue, medical history, goals and expectations. I will assess your movement and muscle strength to identify your pattern of compensation. We will discuss a plan and start treatment as appropriate.
HOW MUCH IS IT?
The cost of a session is £65 for 60 minutes. Standard sessions are one hour, both initial assessments and follow ups.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Comfortable clothing is ideal (not jeans please!) so I can better assess your flexibility. I will ask you to remove/roll up clothing when necessary to assess or treat specific areas. You can wear your normal underwear or have shorts under your jeans or to change into. My main concern is for you to be comfortable, any questions just ask.
THE COVID SECTION
I follow the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy guidance on Coronavirus. This includes a screening questionnaire, regular cleaning of spaces and surfaces, allowing time in between appointments, and appropriate PPE (I'll be wearing a mask, apron and gloves, and ask you to wear a mask).
